Russia’s government issued carbon emissions credits to a project in the north of the country jointly developed by Gazprom Neft JSC, Mitsubishi Corp. and a unit of JX Holdings, Mitsubishi said in a statement today.
The project to recover and use waste flare gas at the Yety Purovskoe oilfield reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 290,000 tons between August and December 2009, the statement said. It is the first time Russia has issued credits, Mitsubishi said.
